Build Nigeria is a 12-week campus hardware challenge run on Forge (by Microscale): student teams pick a track, design and build a real electronics project over the semester using Forge’s free tools, and present at a Demo Day. It’s free to enter. You take it from idea to a working, buildable product — learning the electronics, designing the circuit and bill of materials, prototyping, and (for the strongest teams) a real shot at taking it toward local manufacturing. The 2026 season registers at the start of the new academic session (around late September 2026), with Demo Day in December.

How it works

Form a team on your campus, register during the registration window, and pick a track. Over ~12 weeks you build your project with Forge — Learn for the fundamentals, Design for the circuit and BOM, Prototype for enclosures and parts — with starter BOMs and campus ambassadors to help. It ends with submissions, public voting, and a Demo Day.

The tracks

Projects fit one of five tracks: Power (energy, solar, batteries), IoT (connected devices), Agriculture (agri-tech and sensing), 3D / Fabrication (mechanical + printed design), and Open (anything hardware). Pick the one that fits your idea.

What you get

Free access to the Forge tools and Academy, campus ambassador support, and a public showcase at Demo Day. The strongest teams get a real shot at a manufacturing partnership through Microscale’s Build pipeline — a genuine opportunity, not a guarantee.
