Poultry AirGuard

Poultry AirGuard monitors ammonia in poultry houses and activates an air-cleaning response when levels become harmful.

Built by Team Agro-IoT, University of Lagos, Nigeria

The problem

Ammonia builds up in poultry houses from droppings and wet litter. It is often noticed only by smell or during routine checks, but by then birds may already be stressed, eating less, or becoming more vulnerable to illness. Poor air quality can reduce bird growth and production, increase losses, and make the poultry house uncomfortable or unsafe for workers. Many farms rely on manual checks and manually operated fans, which can miss dangerous conditions—especially at night. Poultry AirGuard continuously checks the air and responds automatically when ammonia reaches an unsafe level.

Who it is for

Poultry AirGuard is for small-scale poultry farmers and farm managers with enclosed or semi-enclosed poultry houses.
