MT Immobilizer

A key-fob tag and a hidden in-car receiver that cuts the fuel pump when the tag is not in the car

Built by Madigawa Tech, Bayero University Kano

The problem

Car theft is one of the biggest worries for car owners in Kano, yet many popular cars, such as KIA, Hyundai and Pontiac Vibe, have no factory immobilizer. Imported units are too expensive and cannot be repaired. If you lose the tag, you cannot cancel it or get a new one, so you have to buy and install a whole new unit.

Who it is for

Car owners in Kano whose cars have no factory immobilizer, such as KIA, Hyundai and Pontiac Vibe, and also people who want additional layer of security to there vehicle

Latest from the team

Build Plan approved. A bench version on ESP32 boards already pairs a tag with a receiver and locks and unlocks. This week I am moving to the final hardware on veroboard, with the CH32V003 chip.

Would you use this?
