Build Nigeria 2026 · Smart Agriculture

Agricultural robot

A modular agricultural robot designed to help farmers with task like spraying, planting, weeding, and soil monitoring

Built by TEAM SITS, Landmarks university

The problem

Many smallholder farmers still depend heavily on manual labour for field operations such as spraying, weeding, and planting. These tasks can be physically demanding, time-consuming, and expensive, especially when labour is scarce or unavailable at the right time. Commercial agricultural machinery can be too expensive, too large, or unsuitable for the needs of smaller farms. Farmers need practical tools that can work in their fields, support different operations, and make mechanization more accessible without requiring a major investment in equipment. This build aims to address this gap by developing a locally built, compact modular agricultural robot that can support Farmers.

Who it is for

Farmers and agricultural users who need affordable, practical ways to mechanize field operations, particularly those working on small and medium-sized farms where conventional machinery may be difficult to access or justify financially.
